kaditcha® was started by Barry Lock after returning to Australia
after his time at McLaren Motor racing, the first kaditcha® was
Barry's personal racing car it was manufactured at McLaren by
Barry Lock with the help of Gordon Coppuck (later fame the Mclaren
M23) and Joe Marquart (later to be Huron Cars) based on the M7 F1
McLaren, that car features Numerous McLaren parts and Open Wheeler
design.
After the first car there was interest starting
to gather about building Customer cars and the next one was made
for Vern Hamilton another Open Wheeler.
There were a total of Four Sports Cars built at
kaditcha® the first one based on the successful M8 McLaren design,
Barry was also instrumental in the manufacture of the M8 McLaren
chassis whilst he was at McLaren, This particular car designated
the kaditcha® SR781 featured Nicholson McLaren Cosworth EAA
engine, very rare today and Hewland FG400 Gearbox and also
Monocoque design chassis.
The Second Sports car was the first V8 Sports
Car and used a lot of McLaren M10 parts in its construction and
also similar body design to the SR781, this car was later owned by
Chris Clearahan.
The third Sports car was built for Steve Webb,
with the late Peter Hopwood driving at a later date and also Chris
Clearahan.
The Fourth Sports car what can i say it was
Built for Bap Romano and featured European Group C styling with a Cosworth DFV
engine and is still owned today by Bap Romano, this car suffered a
terrible accident at Amaroo Park and has been rebuilt by Barry
Lock.
The Sport Cars dominated the Australian Sports
Car titles back in the 80's.
